What makes people have different colored skins?

Your color comes from chemicals in your skin. All people have these same chemicals, but not in the same amounts. Dark-skinned people have large amounts. Pinkish-white skin means that less of the color substance is present.
Scientists who study human beings do not yet know why some of us have more of the color chemicals and some have less. They have discovered that outside color does not make people different inside. For example, they have proved by tests that color has absolutely nothing to do with brains. Smart boys and girls are found equally among all peoples, no matter how much or how little of the color chemicals they have in their skins.
