Water Rattle

Water Rattle, the Crotalus adamanteus, the diamond rattlesnake. It sometimes reaches eight feet in length; yellowish-brown with dark brown spots, belly yellowish, tail black or barred with black. Found in damp and shady places from North Carolina to Texas, and varieties of it range into Cali­fornia and Mexico. It is exceedingly poisonous.
