Ground Dove

The ground dove is a small, handsome dove, with poor powers of flight, which seeks its food (seeds, berries, etc.) on the ground. It is common in the warmer parts of the United States and the Antilles. Several other related birds of terrestrial habits are called "ground doves" or "ground pigeons."
