A vison is a genus of carnivorous quadrupeds included in the Mustelidae or weasel family. Of this genus the mink (
Mustela lutreola) is the most familiar example. The vison inhabits Northern Europe and Northern America, attains a length of a foot and a half or rather less, and is of a brown color, marked with white on the chin and jaws. The vison swims with great ease, the feet being slightly webbed. The fur is very valuable.
