How fast is our Sun rotating in the galaxy?

   Just as the Earth revolves around the sun, the Sun revolves around the nucleus of the Milky Way galaxy. The Sun travels at a speed of about 137 miles (220 kilometers) per second and it takes about two hundred million years to complete a single orbit around the galactic center.
