What is ganzfeld?
German for "entire field," ganzfeld is an artificially induced state of sensory stimulation minus actual information. Ganzfeld is intended to promote hallucination, greater receptivity to ESP signals, a meditative state or a trance. It can be achieved visually by affixing translucent Ping-Pong balls to the eyes and projecting light through them, or aurally by playing random noise, or white sound, through earphones.
