What is a grub?

   GRUB is a convenient term, used without any very great precision, for the concealed and burrowing larvae of many insects, especially of beetles. They are usually to be found in earth, rotten wood, fruit, or a similar place, and are more or less worm líke in appearance, but with a distinctly differentiated head and jaws and usually distinct legs.
