Why is it so hard to get a tattoo off?
Have you ever decorated your skin with a colorful, innocent sticker? If so, you know that it is easily erased with a simple wash, because the color only remains on the top layer of the skin.
Tattoos, however, are body decorations that are not erased by washing them. They are permanent designs on the body because the pigments enter very deep into the skin.
Tattooing is usually done by pricking the skin with a needle. The image of soldiers and sailors is very common, among whom needle tattooing has always been very popular. In primitive societies, small shells or bones are used for this work. In these places tribal tattoos are considered as marks or signs of beauty among women. Once these small holes are made in the skin, following a certain design, color pigments are poured into them.
Although skin piercing is the most common method, tattooing is also done by sewing in a colorful pattern. In both cases, the permanent dye material is deeply embedded in the skin.
Primitive tribes around the world have used the tattoo for centuries, and in some cases, young men and women are not considered adults until their bodies are well tattooed. 3,000-year-old mummies have been found with tattoo marks under the skin.
The tattoo once took the place of clothing among some Japanese, who covered themselves completely with tattoos from head to toe!
