• Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977.
• Their name was originally spelled Deaf Leopard.
• As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Def Leppard has sold more than 65 million albums worldwide.
• Def Leppard are one of only 5 rock bands with 2 original studio albums selling over 10 million copies in the U.S.
• The band were ranked #31 in VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock".
• In January 1978, Steve Clark joined the band.
• Throughout 1979, Def Leppard developed a loyal following among British hard rock and heavy metal fans and were even initially considered the leaders of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (a status eventually claimed by Iron Maiden).
